Engine
Heaters and Pre-Heaters
Many districts require their drivers
to idle their school buses for up to 45 minutes to warm
them before and during operation. This is wasteful for
a number of reasons:
Pollution: Diesel vehicles at idle
emit particulate matter that is harmful for students,
drivers and teachers.
Fuel waste: Vehicles left in idle consume
far more fuel than our engine heaters and pre-heaters.
Labor costs: Our heaters can be operated
by remote timer, eliminating the need for the driver
to show up early.
Engine wear: Diesel engines are expensive
to maintain and repair. Excessive idling adds to this cost.
Our heaters and pre-heaters are designed
to eliminate excessive engine idling by heating independent
of diesel operation.

Problem: Cold starts and excessive
idling
Solution: Engine Preheater
Preheats engine to reduce startup idling. Reduces damage
from cold starts and exhaust pollutants from operating
engines cold. Maybe used with timer for automated engine
preheat cycles.
Problem: Excessive pollution, engine wear and wasted
fuel due to heating the cab overnight by idling the engine.
Solution: Cab Heater
Draws fuel directly from the fuel tank, allowing sleeper
cabs to stay warm overnight without idling the engine.
Problem: Not enough heat in a transit van, school or
city transit bus, etc
Solution: Engine Preheater/Supplemental Heater
Simultaneously preheats engine and passenger cabin.
